Silcoates School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged from five to eighteen years. There are currently 700 pupils on roll who come from a wide geographical area. Our aim is to provide a first class all-round education with an academic edge. The ability profile of the School is well above the national average. Value-added scores are very strong at GCSE and outstanding (among the best in the county) at A Level, a testament to the fact that pupils are being very well taught across the full range of subjects.
Silcoates is a happy and successful school, with a long tradition of providing a positive educational experience. The staff and pupils are justifiably proud of the School, and we work together to create and maintain a high-achieving, well-organised and friendly community in which everyone is encouraged to make the very best of their individual talents. Our most recent inspection report summed Silcoates up well when it concluded: “The personal development of pupils throughout the School is outstanding. Pupils show a high level of social maturity and their spiritual, moral and cultural awareness is very well developed. They speak with pride of their school, valuing its history and its strong sense of community and show respect for its members and visitors.”
